How do you drag the kids off their devices and get them outside? With an eight-feet tall yeti-goat of course.

Children today spend less time outdoors than any other generation before them. Generation Wild is on a mission to change that.

The truth is, somewhere along the way, many of us parents have become just as removed from nature as our kids. Until we get parents to long for the outdoors, we’ll never persuade their kids.

Wilder, A Tale of Love for the Outdoors debuted as a 2-minute short film on television, in movie theaters and at outdoor movie nights. The film spread through digital and social platforms. Then, Wilder and team hit the road to engage with families at events across Colorado.

In just 10 weeks, the campaign surpassed 1.25 million social engagements and 70,000 reactions on social media. It generated a 30% engagement rate across all promoted posts. Traffic to the Generation Wild website increased by 830% over the previous year and time on the site nearly doubled. All the while, letters of admiration and love poured into the Generation Wild office.

Wilder continues to spread love across Colorado.

He and the Generation Wild social community produced a children’s book, “Wilder and the very, very, very short day.” The community provided ideas. We then wrote, illustrated and animated the next chapter and posted it three days later.
